Design features a distinctive ribbed stem, the base is made from an 18 pounder shell case, Mark II. The 18 pounder was a standard field gun used exclusively by British and Commonwealth forces during WW1.
Year of manufacture 1917. "OTB" likely denotes the manufacture, Ordanance & Transport Board and "7237" is a batch number.
